Forbidden love (Me and Coal only plz)

Nightsplotch was at the thunderpath, looking both ways to see if any monsters were coming. When he saw and heard none, the tom quickly ran across. He was going onto Thunderclan territory to gather herbs...or, at least thats what he told the leader. He was really wanting to see Mintyleaf. Nightsplotch padded alongside the Thunderpath on Thunderclan's side, heading towards a nice clump of Burdock Root, which was used to heal rat bites. He came to a stop and started to pick some. If a Thunderclan cat stopped him, he would have an excuse; he was gathering herbs. You weren't allowed to hurt a medicine cat. As he picked the roots, he also gathered some cobweb. Paw steps were heard from behind him and the familiar smell of a she-cat swam up his nose. Nightsplotch stopped what he was doing, but didn't turn around. He already knew who it was.

Mintyleaf pounced on the medicine cat tom, careful not to crush his herbs and cobwebs. She playfully licked his cheek, then scrambled back and blushed. "S-sorry..." she stammered, looking at her paws.

Nightsplotch was caught by surprise when the she-cat pounched on him and licked his cheek. He dropped his herbs, which scattered everywhere. "What are you doing?" He hissed a little to urgently. He had a crush on Mintyleaf, yes, but he didn't want to admit it, no matter how obvious it was. The tom rushed to gather his herbs. He came there to see Mintyleaf, so why wasn't he happy to see her? "I...I was just gathering herbs and cobweb. I think I'm done now." He picked up the last of his herbs and avoided eye contact with the other medicine cat. He wasn't good with ladies.

Hurt flashed clear in Mintyleaf's eyes, and she nodded quietly, understanding him somewhat. "O-okay... I guess I'll leave now..." She turned away and took a few pawsteps to ThunderClan, wishing he'd call her back.

Nightsplotch sadly watched as the she-cat padded away. You did the right thing, Nightsplotch, he told himself. He had to clamp his mouth shut and pinch his eyes closed to stop from calling out to her, but he still did anyway. "Mintyleaf," He called out quietly.

Though Mintyleaf's head and tail were drooped, she stopped and pricked her ears, not lifting her head.

Nightsplotch paused for a moment, not sure what to say. "I love you," Is what he did say. Before Mistyleaf could do or say anything in response, Nightsplotch picked up his bundle of herbs and raced back to Shadowclan camp, afraid he had said the wrong thing.

Mintyleaf stared at where he disappeared before calling back. "I love you too, Nightsplotch!" The she-cat's eyes were filled with hurt as he left her.

Nightsplotch could just make out the voice of Mintyleaf behind him as a monster roared past. He couldn't make out what she had said, so he just kept going away, not looking back. He didn't know why, but he felt like someone had stabbed him in the heart. He wasn't sure why tears came to his eyes when they did. He didn't hold back from letting them fall.

Mintyleaf whipped around and let the tears flow, not caring if anyone saw. She raced back to the camp, sobbing.
