In the medicine den Empty
PostSubject: In the medicine den   In the medicine den EmptyWed Sep 23, 2015 5:21 pm

Treepaw sat in the medicine den, smelling the herbs as he bundled them together. He had only gone to highstones a few sunrises before, but he had still caught on quickly once his official apprenticeship had started.

Deerspots's eyes gleamed proudly as he padded through the lichen curtain, maws and chin/neck stuffed with herbs, moss, and other remedies; he carried several strong scents, some sharp and some sweet. Treepaw had only accompanied him to the moonstone only a few sunrises before, but the young tom had caught on with surprising speed. "Very good. Now, Ravenstar's got a slight cough, a sore throat, and a tooth-ache. What herbs or remedies that I have currently can help with this?" he inquired after dropping the herbs and sifting through them carefully. Several piles lay at his feet, about seven of them. Each of them had their own individual scent and treatment. The first pile was a leaf wrap, with honey secured inside. The second pile was a large leaf-wrap with small black poppy seeds rattling around. The third pile was clumps of catmint, a delicious-smelling, leafy plant. On the left of the catmint was a pile of alder bark. The fifth pile was a sour-smelling leaf, or rather, the contents inside smelled foul. This was mouse-bile. A strong-smelling clump of garlic lay a few paw-lengths away from all herbs. Yarrow lay a tail-length from a row of holes in the ground. There were twenty-seven of them, to be exact. Each herb had its own hole, which was right against the cave wall. The last two were for sticks. There was a stick with cobwebs wrapped around the branch in one, and the second stick smelled foul, like mouse-bile. A shallow dip near the mouse-bile hole was shaped exactly like the bile leaf wrap. A fox-length away from the first hole lay another cave opening. This was where Deerspots and Treepaw slept. This was at the back of the main cave. On the other side of the main cave was a trickle of water that led to a shallow pool. The water in the pool was a light, shimmering blue. Clumps of moss lay directly beside it. Mossy nests made a semi-circle around the pool. Dry moss that was not used for water or for nest hung on a jutting spike above and to the right of the pool. "Oh, and after you answer, can you please take some moss-water to Ravenstar?"

OOC: Oh my gosh, I'm sorry for how much I posted XD

Treepaw nodded. "Alder bark for toothache, Lavender for coughs, and honey to ease a sore throat?" He walked to the side of the den collecting some wet moss and heading off to see Ravenstar.

Deerspots let out a small, almost inaudible chuckle, smiling while shaking his head. "This 'paw learns pretty quickly..." he murmured softly to himself. Straighening up, he focused on Treepaw. "Thank you!" he called out, turning to the herb piles afterwords and sorting through them.
