Kittish Life

Breezekit yawned before showing her goofy smile. Most kits complained about the bore but, breezekit did not mind so much. She curled her tail around her paws and closed her eyes.

Runningheart smiled and ruffled Breezekit's scruff playfully, curling his tail around his hind paws. "What's up, lil' one?" he mewed, tilting his head. The young warrior was somewhat annoying to those who didn't appreciate his friendliness, but his intentions were for the best.

Breezekit shrugged. "Not much. Want to play with me?"

Runningheart allowed a purr to rumble deep in his throat. "Sure. What do you want to play?" The creative tom's mind raced as he thought of new games to play.

Breezekit thought for a second before collecting a moss ball and some rocks. She set the rocks in a half circle. One of us has to try to get the mossball inside the circle while the other one tries to block the ball from getting in."

The warrior purred, blinking and nodding. "Sounds like a good game idea. What're you going to call it, and who should do what?" he asked, referring to whehter he was going to guard the circle, or try to get the mossball in it.

"I can guard first. she said "What do you think it should be called?"

Runningheart tilted his head, narrowed his eyes, and thought for a moment. "Moss-hockey." he mewed confidently, though anyone who was listening might've thought he was crazy. (Has a cat even heard of hockey, anyway?)

Occ: no but, whatever.

"Yeah!" She through the ball towards the goal, missing it barely

OOC: Exactly XD Runningheart's sorta strange.

Runningheart smiled. "Ready to start?" he asked. Without waiting for an answer, he gently set the mossball on the ground and batted it with his tail, sending it spinning on the ground toward the kit.

Breezekit went and grabbed the ball before rolling it again.

Ooc: can you pm bloom and cat about the med. Cat meeting?

OOC: One step ahead of you Already done.

The warrior grabbed the ball when Breezekit rolled it, batting it back toward the goal. "Do you want to switch places, or wait?" he asked curiously.

Brrezekit thought for a moment. "We can switch." She padded to Runningheart.

Runningheart dipped his head, then padded to the goal. He stepped aside rather than blocking it completely with his body, seeing as the goal was apprentice-sized. The warrior set a paw by the goal and waited patiently for the kit to roll (or throw) the mossball.

Breezekit hurled the ball to the warrior, grunting.

Runningbreeze stifled a purr of amusement when Breezekit threw the ball. He swiped toward the ball, meaning to roll it back to her, but missed. The moss rolled to a stop into the goal, and the warrior swatted the ball out with his tail. He playfully batted it toward the kit.

He had been watching the two cats play for a while now, safely hidden in the entrance to the nursery. If he ever wanted to join in that fun-looking game, it was now or never; his mother was finally taking a nap.

Hobblekit shook out his fur in anticipation, excitement bubbling up in his chest. He'd never gone behind his mother's back before, it was quite a daring stunt. The kit scrunched up his body like a spring, lashing his tail to one side for balance before bolting out of the nursery, aiming for the two cats. Unfortunately things didn't go quite like he had imagined they would in his head.

Apparently sprinting is a difficult thing to do for the first time, especially when you only have three legs.

But finally the dark tortoiseshell kitten made it, albeit very awkwardly. He plopped himself down in front of the larger tom, painfully aware of how foolish he must have just looked. Taking a moment to catch his breath, he opened his mouth and mewed, "Hello, may I play too?"

The friendly toyger tom dipped his head, grinned playfully at the younger kit. "Of course you can!" Runningheart meowed, a purr chirring in his throat and adding a friendly chime to his mew.

The tom's friendly tone of voice put the kit at ease. He had decided not too long ago that friendly cats were the best kind of cats, they were more likely to look past his obvious disability and be friends with him.

"Wow, thanks!" he purred back, limping over to the mossball and spearing it with needle-sharp kitten claws. "So..." he mused, looking up at Runningheart with a curious green gaze. "How exactly do you play this game?" All that time he spent watching the game being played, and he never actually figured out how it worked.

The fact that the kit was disabled but going out and trying to make friends anyway warmed the warrior's heart. "No problem! Anyway, see those two half-circles over there?" He paused, pointing to each one in return. When he was sure that the new kit had caught sight of the goals, he continued. "These are goals. One cat has to guard each one. The cat that has the mossball gets to aim it at any goal except their own, and try to make it in. In order to prevent your opponent from scoring, you have to block it with any body part. I'll draw you a goal." he mewed happily. He shifted a few fox-lengths and made a half-circle in the earth. "Ready to play?"
